Tradition has it that 200 years ago, a chimney
Sweep saved the life of King George II by
stopping his runaway horse and carriage.
The King then issued a Royal Decree saying
that Chimney Sweeps were bringers of luck
and so should be treated with the greatest
of respect. This is where the tradition of
having a sweep at the wedding started
